Fly Control for Livestock Owners
Join Solana Center for this 1-hour webinar to learn strategies for combating pesky flies around livestock, with a focus on effective manure management. Flies can deliver painful bites. They irritate and stress livestock, and can transmit diseases, potentially creating serious health issues for your animals. In this 1-hour webinar, we will discuss an array of strategies you can use to control flies on your property, including the important role of manure management. Guest speaker, Nancy Reigler, owner of Ramona's Oasis Camel Dairy, who will explain her approach to reducing flies among her camels and other livestock. In this webinar, we will cover the following topics: - The importance of controlling flies around livestock - Using a multi-pronged approach: biological, chemical, and physical - Using predators, traps, and sprays - The role of effective manure management in fly control A recording of the webinar will be available to Unincorporated County residents only for 7 days after the webinar occurs.
