Friends of Jung P.T.S.D. Lecture
3900 Cleveland Avenue, San Diego, 92103
Age Limit: 18+
Cost: $15 - $20
The San Diego Friends of Jung will present Dr. Craig Stephenson Ph.D., speaking on A Jungian Interpretation of Grimms’ “Bearskin”: A Soldier’s Story of Trauma and Transcendence, connecting the Grimms’ narrative to current issues of PTSD and combat trauma. The lecture connects the Grimms’ narrative to current issues of PTSD and combat trauma: The Brothers Grimm took up a story by Grimmelshausen, the 17th century German writer, and combined it with a traditional folktale to create “Bearskin,” the story of a soldier who returns from a war, no longer has a job, and finds himself bargaining for his life with a cloven-hoofed trickster.
