Fall Colors & Fall Plants of Badger Ridge Trail
Want to get in the mood for the holidays and see the change of the seasons? Come see the vibrant Fall colors of Eagle Peak Preserve, a 1,152 acre open space preserve! The San Diego River Park Foundation is hosting a free guided hike along Badger Ridge Trail, a 5.5 mile hike through rolling grasslands. Come enjoy a beautiful day in nature and see for yourself why the San Diego River is worth preserving! Badger Ridge Trail: • Distance (Roundtrip): 5.5 • Elevation Change: 490 ft. • Difficulty: Moderate to Difficult How to Prepare: • Bring at least 2 liters of water. • Wear sturdy hiking shoes and sun protection to keep yourself comfortable. • Pack a sack lunch or snack. • Dogs are not allowed. • This hike is not kid-friendly. • Poison oak may be present, so long pants are recommended. Location: Eagle Peak Ranch is about 1.5 hours by car from central San Diego near the town of Julian. Please RSVP for directions to the trailhead. RSVP is required.
