When the new Tax Cut Job Act (TCJA) went into affect January 1, 2018, the Federal Estate Tax has been abolished for all those but .002 of the population. This has been made possible by the annually upward adjusting exemption which is 11M for individual and 22M for married. Until 2012, the AB Trust was the common strategy used. Although it was complex and costly, it provided necessary tax relief. With the passage of the TCJA, the question today is whether the costs, complexity and complications still warrant an AB Trust. You will discover the consequences of having an AB Trust today and the alternatives available. You will also learn when an AB Trust would still be a good strategy. 858-356-2731
