Ebenezer Scrooge’s Big San Diego Christmas Show: Ha! Humbug
There’s a reason it’s not called A Christmas Carol
Matthew Lickona 1:30 p.m., Dec. 11
Instructor: Hayley Haspel-Winick | Explore this magical process using leaves to surface print their form and extract their pigments. Practice the different ways to coax both from leaves using mordants, modifiers and different fibers, heat and steam. The tannins in leaves are transferred onto cloth or paper due to heat and moisture. Capture the unique signature of each leaf as you create a one-of-a kind silk scarf. While waiting for your bundle to steam, explore more hidden magic of leaves by using the hapazome dye technique. Please register in advance.
