Bird Sing a Pretty Song
Don’t miss the west-coast premiere of a riveting amalgam of dance, music, and film that follows two dancers as they fight for connection in a digital age of surveillance. The three live musicians act as observers, building lush soundscapes that influence the dancers movement and accompanying projections of film. The performance seamlessly blends art forms into a cohesive, visceral experience offering a glimpse into a world of solitude, beauty and chaos. Created during fellowships at LABA: A Laboratory for Jewish Culture in New York City and Chutzpah! Festival in Vancouver. The piece is brought to life on stage by dancers Rebecca Margolick and Chuck Wilt, guitarist/media/composer Maxx Berkowitz, guitarist/composer Jake Klar, and percussionist Bruno Esrubilsky, with film by Derrick Belcham. This tour is supported by The Canada Council for the Arts.
