Pitch Sessions
You are ready to publish! You’ve revised your manuscript, gone through read and critique groups, and feel like it’s ready to get an agent or face a publisher. What’s next? It’s the dreaded pitch. You will have to be able to explain your book in just a few polished words. In the same spirit of professionalism where we offered you professional author headshots and the opportunity to have a professionally edited podcast interviewing you about your project, we now offer you a ten-minute pitch session with Jennifer Silva Redmond. She’ll listen to your pitch and help you make it better. Come prepared to speak your pitch out loud (rehearse it!) and also bring a written copy to work on and take notes of improvements. Ten minute sessions, 4 every hour from 10am-2pm. You will be asked to choose your timeslot when registering. You must pay by credit card as we expect these slots will sellout. You must cancel with at least 48 hours notice. You will be asked to arrive at least 5-10 minutes before your slot so that you will not run late. Latecomers will not be able to make up missed time as it encroaches on the next person’s time slot. “What’s your book about?” We get asked that question all the time, but most of us spend very little time figuring out how to effectively answer it. Pitching your book is key to selling it—whether you’re an author-publisher or are sending query letters to agents or publishers. Jennifer Redmond, long-time acquisitions editor and popular “Pitch Witch” will listen to your pitch! Find out how to make your pitch stand out from the rest and help sell your book.
