Fattitude
The Women's Film Festival San Diego, in partnership with Women In Entertainment and ArcLight Cinemas, is proud to present their first Summer Film Series. The series strives to educate and inspire future generations about the experiences and contributions of women through the art of film. We are excited to invite you to join us in July for weekly film screenings and Q&A sessions with the series filmmakers. On July 11th join us for a screening of Fattitude. Directed by Lindsey Averill and Viridiana Lieberman, Fattitude takes a look at how fat people are ridiculed and shamed in popular culture. The film calls to action a change in the national conversation about body image so that it focuses on not only issues of self-acceptance, but also legitimate questions of systemic prejudice—for example the relationship between race, poverty, and obesity. Tickets are 17.50 and can be purchased at womensfilmfestivalsandiego.com
