Operation Clean Sweep
Since Operation Clean Sweep began in 1990, nearly 42 sites have been cleaned, over 14,000 people have volunteered to help, and over 370 boats have been donated. From 2010-2016 alone, over 250,000 lbs. of debris was removed from the bay and its shoreline. The 1000 person Shore-side clean up occurs on Port Tidelands and includes military and civilian divers that clean the bottom of the bay. The clean-up is followed by an after party at with lunch and awards for the most unique finds. Visit https://www.sdpta.com/operation-clean-sweep for waivers and registration forms. Participants can register in advance by Aug 22, or on the day of event at site. Participate at one of four sites: Chollas Creek, Barrio Logan, Marina View Park, and Half Moon Marina. At registration, turn in waivers and registration forms to receive an event T-shirt, gloves, trash bags, and water. Wear your Operation Clean Sweep T-Shirt to gain admittance to the After Party Celebration to be held at Cesar Chavez Park from 11am - 1pm
