Tech & Sculpture Camp
August 6 - August 10 | Ages 5 to 9 Campers will learn a variety of sculptural techniques, along with construction and design, used in making basic gizmos and machines. We will experiment with building objects and consider how they can be activated with the use of kinetics and technology, including sound and video. About the teaching artist: A native of Poland, Gosia Herc-Balaszek currently lives and practices in Southern California. Her sculptural work engages concepts of simulation, and perpetual erasure, focusing on the architecture aboard military installations, particularly Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton. Her practice slips between collecting, archiving, voyeurism, and vandalism. Gosia is a graduate of the University of California at Irvine MFA program and alumna of the Visual Arts program at the University of California at San Diego.
