Mad Max: Live Soundtrack by Morricone Youth
As a special part of the 2018 Oceanside International Film Festival, the annual film event will include the presentation of classic cinema accompanied by an original live re-score inspired by the films. Renowned musical act "Morricone Youth" will be performing a live soundtrack to Mad Max. The event will occur as part of the film festival's programming on the evening of August 5th, 2018. Special tickets for the screening are available via the festival website. Morricone Youth formed in New York City in 1999 with the mission statement of composing, re-interpreting, performing and recording only "music written for the moving image." The band performs composing its own original live scores to old silent films, midnight movies, animations and shorts in theaters and art spaces around the country. The band's original music has regularly been used for television and films and has embarked on the ambitious project of recording and re-working the soundtracks for 15 silent films.
