Stop Motion Camp
July 30 - August 3 | Ages 5 to 9 The goal of this camp is to learn about stop motion, green screen technique, character design, lighting, and approaches to storytelling -- and to use these skills to create our own animated films! We will also spend time exploring and studying other experimental animated shorts. Requirements: Photography Camera, any type of camera would work (cell phone included) About the teaching artist: Francisco Eme is originally from Mexico City and, after years of visiting San Diego, moved here permanently in 2017. As an artist, he is particularly interested in the sundry everyday situations and social interactions that essentially compress, synthesize, and reflect the complexities of today’s world. He uses and/or creates graphics, sculpture, photography, multimedia installations, electroacoustic compositions, interventions and performances to immerse audiences in the symbols, poetics, and contradictions of everyday life. Moreover, Francisco employs technology to link the electronic world to essential human emotions. His work has been presented throughout the world, specifically across México, the United States, England, Spain, France, Italy, Czech Republic, Canada, Colombia, Argentina and El Salvador.
