Peter Sprague, Leonard Patton & Tripp Sprague
Using the Great American Songbook as their launching pad, the Peter Sprague Trio explores the Beatles, Stevie Wonder, Bob Marley, Jimi Hendrix, James Taylor, and Cream from a jazz viewpoint. The result is songs that you’ve heard but delivered in a new sonic light. And just to keep the palette of colors fresh and revolving, the group will play “Georgia” by Hoagy Carmichael or add in a Cole Porter beauty. The trio includes Tripp Sprague on saxophone, who also doubles on flute, chromatic harmonica and percussion. Leonard Patton sings up a storm all the while sitting on a cajon (percussion box) and playing rock solid drum grooves. Peter Sprague plays a one of kind double neck guitar and has an array of special pedals on the floor that he adds in as needed.
