NATtalk: Shared Heritage of the Californias
1788 El Prado, San Diego, 92101
Cost: $9 - $12
For thousands of years the Kumeyaay people of northern Baja California and Southern California have made their homes in the diverse landscapes of the region, interacting with native plants and continuously refining their botanical knowledge. Join anthropologist and author of Kumeyaay Ethnobotany Michael Wilken-Robertson and photographer Deborah Small as they explore the interdependence between native peoples and native plants of the Californias. With photographs and narratives, this new book shares the ever-relevant ethnobotanical wisdom of native plant specialists with future generations. A book signing for Kumeyaay Ethnobotany will take place after the lecture in the museum store.
