Camarada: Music, SHE Wrote
1955 Julian Avenue, San Diego, 92113
Cost: $15 - $50
Explore the feminine side of music with Camarada and exuberant narrator, Marketa Hankova, in the program entitled Music, SHE Wrote. Camarada explores the beauty, eloquence, and history from early women composers, Elisabeth Jacquet de la Guerre and Hildegard von Bingen, to upcoming composer Chelsea Komschlies, currently in the doctoral program at Curtis Institute of Music. This program also features music by modern day female composers, Libby Larsen and Chen Yi, counterbalanced by Fanny Hensel Mendelssohn and Ellen Zwilich’s lyrical works. Treat yourself a multisensory evening with powerful and inspiring music by women and cutting edge art.
