Carmen and The Four Seasons
121 Broadway, San Diego, 92101
Cost: $32 - $105
Elizabeth Wistrich’s one-act version of Carmen has been one of her most popular, critically acclaimed, and in-demand ballets. Created in 1988, danced to Georges Bizet’s exhilarating score, the ballet tells the story of Carmen, a beautiful and sultry factory worker, set in 1820’s Spain. Men are fascinated by her and will do almost anything for her love – including murder. Also on the program is a world premiere by Geoff Gonzalez to Vivaldi’s most popular score, The Four Seasons. With detailed scenery and elaborate costumes by the great designer David Heuvel.
