Natural History of San Diego County Wintering Birds
5500 Campanile Drive, San Diego, 92182
Cost: $65 - $85
San Diego County has more species of birds than any other county in the United States. Learn to identify them by sight as we explore the local hot spots of winter birding in this four-week workshop. One in-house lab will enrich three field excursions to: 1) the San Diego River Flood Control Channel for ducks and shorebirds, 2) La Jolla Cove for seabirds, and 3) Mission Trails Regional Park for terrestrial birds. Learn about the effects humans are having on local birds, the conservation challenges, and how you can help via eBird and citizen science (i.e. volunteer monitoring). Expect to see over 100 species of wintering birds in the field. Call 619-594-2863 for additional details.
