In this session you will be introduced to the wine region of Burgundy, France and its most noted appellations, and the distinctive white (Chardonnay) and red (Pinot Noir) wines they produce and compare and contrast them with those from California and Oregon. You will gain a better understanding of why the same grape variety, grown in multiple regions, will have similar characteristics yet achieve its own unique “personality” in the finished wine and determine if “terroir” plays a significant role.
