Bird Walk & Presentation: Meet the Birds of Anstine
2437 Hutchison Street, Vista, 92084
Cost: Free
How much do you know about the birds that call North County home? Can you identify them by sight and song? Do you know which ones are the most fearless, the most stealthy, or the most well-traveled?
9 a.m.: A bird walk around the preserve led by Rebecca Wilbanks, Anstine's resident caretaker. 11 a.m.: Presentation on "Nature's Ambassadors: The Birds of Anstine" from San Diego Audubon board member Mike Matherly. Mike will illustrate the most common birds found in the preserve's microhabitats and explain how to identify them by sight and song. Most importantly, he'll explain what draws each species to Anstine.
