Quick Draw Art
Part of the exhibition includes a “Quick Draw” Contest in which 40 women artists will set up easels and canvas outside on the North Promenade at Liberty Station starting at 10am to capture images of models dressed in historic costumes from the Women’s Museum’s collection of vintage clothing.
The contest requires participants to have the painting completed and turned into the judges by 1:30pm. Many of the “Quick Draw” pieces will be for sale.
Other Women Artists of the West will be painting “en plein air” (a French expression which means "in the open air" and is particularly used to describe the act of painting outdoors) in other picturesque spots around Liberty Station. As well, other artists will be conducting demos on the Museum premises.
