Visually Impaired Fencing Conference
The National Organization for Albinism and Hypopigmentation (NOAH) will hold its 15th annual conference in San Diego this weekend. The NOAH conference empowers children to participate in activities that are not so accessible to the visually impaired community.
Seeking to enrich children’s experiences at the conference, Team Touché Fencing Center will bring a team of 20 coaches — teens and adults — to teach fencing techniques to the visually impaired children attending the conference.
Team Touché Fencing Center, located in Sorrento Valley, has more than 150 active members and is one of San Diego’s premier fencing clubs. Head coach and owner of Team Touché, Tedd Padgitt, has 20 years of coaching experience, and in conjunction with Dr. Bryan Bishe, Ph.D. has developed methods for instructing the visually impaired.
