Taken By Canadians is an Oceanside-based rock band featuring fiddler/keyboardist Anna Zinova (Di Nigunim), bassist Marco Savoia (Despite the Wolves), and singer/guitarist Ben Ambrosini. Drummer Tristan Faulk-Webster (Blue Moonies) was later replaced by Tims Sams (the Filthy Violets).

Their full-length We Eat You Like a Person dropped in June 2016. A third self-titled release debuted in 2018 via Blind Owl Records. The same label released a 7-inch vinyl in June 2019 with a new song, "Magdalene," and a new version of an old track called "Black Heart."

"Magdalene" was recorded in September 2018 in San Francisco at a studio called Bauer Mansion (Oh Sees, Ty Segall, Howlin' Rain) with Eric Bauer as engineer. "Black Heart" was recorded at Lost Ark Studio in Pacific Beach. Both songs were recorded live to two-inch tape and mixed by Mike Butler. The cover art features a photo taken by Elizabeth Lekas on the roof of Northern Pine Brewing in Oceanside, where singer/guitarist Ben Ambrosini worked as a bartender and sales rep. A music video for "Magdalene" was shot by Blake Dean (Schizophonics, Mrs. Henry).
