Based in North County San Diego, hard rock band Symbolic is fronted by singer Scott Bruce. “We're a metal band, and really proud of it,” says guitarist and main songwriter Steve Potts, originally from London. The group specializes in prog-influenced metal, occasionally dipping into sci-fi themes and concept album territory.
Their sophomore release Nevertime garnered a 2011 San Diego Music Awards nomination for Best Hard Rock Album. A fourth full-length, a coincept album called Xenatopia, was recorded at Lambesis Studios with producer/engineer Daniel Castleman.
As of 2015, the band also includes Bobby Fernandez (bass) and Steven Elias (drums).
