Background:

Petyr is a heavy psychedelic rock band founded by singer-guitarist Riley Hawk, son of skateboard star Tony Hawk, alongside bassist Luke Devigny and drummer Nick McDonell. They were later joined by Holland Redd, who sang and played guitar and keyboards in Salt Lake City's UFO TV.

A self-titled debut album was released by east coast-based Outer Battery Records, after which the band hit the road for their first tour of Australia, in February 2018. Their sophomore album Smolyk was recorded at Lost Ark Studio in Pacific Beach and released in April 2018, followed the same month by a performance at the four-day Roadburn Festival in Tilburg, Holland.
