Future muzak from a one-man spaceship, piloted via cheap, outdated keyboards --

DIY new ager Danish Plato is a progressive rock electronica/synth one-man-band, with a penchant for lo-fi rock operettas composed and performed entirely on obscure old keyboards. Most tracks on his first album Synthonia: Watcher From the Blind were recorded live in single takes, with no overdubs and very little post production.

The all-instrumental collection of musical suites is akin to Meddle-era Pink Floyd, a group the native New Englander cites as his biggest musical influence. His early east coast bands included Exit, Dark Tower, and Darkseid. Having relocated to San Diego since the early 1980s, his first solo music wasn’t self-recorded until around 2003.

Two more albums of outer space-drenched prog keyboard rock are recorded and planned for future release. Newer tracks include more drum programming and multitracking than his debut release, having been recorded between 2008 and 2010.
