Filipino-American Charles Quimiro -- aka Mr. Coox, aka Cookoo -- was born and raised in San Diego, winning producer Flip Matrix’s (Ice Cube/Xzibit) Best of the Best MC contest in 2008. He has since collaborated on underground mix-tape songs with multi-platinum a.Fam Entertainment producer Focus'¦ (Dr. Dre/Beyonce).

As of 2010, the 31 year-old Cookoo was also a member of frequent SDMA nominees South Psycho Cide, with a day job as a graphic designer. His single “We Charge Hard” is themed for San Diego Chargers fans. He performed it on Fox 5 Morning News on August 31, 2010.

The November 13, 2010, issue of the Filipino Press included a Cookoo feature. He was also interviewed for Balitang America TV, a Filipino/American global news network on the Filipino Channel ABS-CBN which airs in several countries, and for definitelyfilipino.com.

In early 2012, he shot a video for his Manny “PacMan” Pacquiao anthem which can be viewed on YouTube.
