Formed in 2015, the Brian Jones Rock 'n' Roll Revival played original blues-based rock and roll on their first album, A Real Good Time, which came out in 2016.

The album was promoted with a video for "Finding Diamonds," shot locally at Hindsight Studios. "We recorded in a live studio audience setting with a small crowd, ala 'Smells Like Teen Spirit.' It was hot and loud in the studio and it felt like a small bar in the French Quarter of New Orleans. The band looked spectacular with their sequences and choreography, with the sound responsive stage lights and party clothes, and the audience was as loud and boisterous as a 1963 Beatles concert. The band rocked for three solid takes, so we got plenty of video angles."

"The live studio scene made for a perfect rock 'n' roll video." Their followup album Holy Rollers was released in 2017, with Save Your Soul dropping in April 2018.

Recorded, mixed, and mastered by Steve "The Chef" Russel at Stealth Studios in La Mesa, Save Your Soul was mostly written by Brian Jones, except for covers of "Lucille" by Little Richard and "I Just Wanna Make Love to You" by Willie Dixon. "There are three ballads and three blues songs," Jones told the Reader, "and one Velvet Underground-inspired surf rocker called 'Boogie Child.'"

Former bassist/singer Sol has also played with 40 Oz. to Freedom.
