PETCO Snow Bird RV Park Opens (10/31/12)

PETCO Park, in downtown San Diego, opened its gates for its first year of operation as Snow Bird RV Park. Normally a major league Baseball Park, with the city council’s unanimous blessing the park owners decided instead of leaving the multi-million dollar facility idle during the long off-season, they would open an RV park on the playing field. The park manager estimates there will be space for at least 300 Class-A units. “It will be like a year-round tailgate party”, he said. Existing food courts, souvenir stands and rest rooms will remain open. Portable laundry rooms and showers were brought on site. The city council agreed based on the intention of reducing RV parking on city streets. Rental space is $200-300 per month, which includes full hook-ups: sewer, electricity, water and cable. .
