675 anglers aboard31 boats out of San Diego landings this past week caught 72 yellowtail, 22 calico bass, 65 sand bass, 10 bonito, 1 barracuda, 1,779 rockfish, 1 sheephead, 3 sanddab, 6 halfmoon, 119 lingcod, 4 halibut, 85 sculpin, 22 blacksmith perch, 10 mackerel and 21 spiny lobster.

Top Boats of the Week

(Note: no trips due to weather January 19-21)

On January 18, the Electra out of Helngren’s on a half-day trip with 13 anglers aboard called in with 15 sculpin, 24 sand bass, 4 calico bass and 22 blacksmith. The Daily Double on a half-day out of Point Loma with 11 anglers aboard reported 2 calico bass, 4 sculpin and 1 halibut kept while releasing 2 halibut, 20 calico bass and 25 rockfish.

On the 17th, the Premier with 25 anglers out of H&M called in with 94 rockfish, 2 lingcod and 2 sculpin.

On the 16th, the Relentless with 20 anglers aboard on a 2.5 day trip out of H&M reported 2 bonito, 376 rockfish and 22 lingcod caught. The Outer Limits out of Seaforth with 21 anglers on a 2.5 day trip reported 8 yellowtail, 23 lingcod, 220 rockfish and 3 bonito caught. The New Seaforth on a half-day trip with 22 anglers aboard called in with 4 yellowtail, 1 calico bass, 4 sand bass and 5 sculpin in the gunnysacks. The Dolphin, on a half-day out of Fisherman’s with 14 anglers aboard reported 1 halibut, 8 sand bass, 1 bonito and 4 halibut released.

On the 15th, Old Glory with 11 anglers aboard their 1.5 day trip out of H&M returned to the dock with 96 rockfish, 4 bonito and 6 yellowtail in the hold. The Jig Strike on a ½ day run out of H&M reported that their 6 anglers kept 17 spiny lobster on a PM hoop-net trip. The Vendetta with 7 anglers aboard for a ¾-day run called in with 1 yellowtail, 1 sheephead, 1 sculpin and 56 rockfish. The Malihini ran south on a ¾-day trip to the Coronados with 15 anglers aboard and returned with 150 rockfish. The Eclipse out of Seaforth with 28 anglers aboard their 1.5 day run called in with 24 yellowtail, 119 rockfish and 21 lingcod in the hold. The Pacific Queen out of Fisherman’s with 32 anglers aboard reported 13 yellowtail, 130 rockfish and 18 lingcod. Also out of Fisherman’s, the Liberty with 27 anglers aboard their 1.5-day run reported 28 yellowtail, 65 rockfish and 13 lingcod caught. The Dominator out of Point Loma with 15 anglers aboard a 1.5-day run called in with 12 yellowtail and 65 rockfish.
