Separate checks are a server's worst nightmare. We are here to accommodate of course. But what diners need to understand is that separate checks if done properly so all the food can arrive at the table at the same time is more leg work. Especially if we have a full house. The easiest way to dine is to all pay at the end and cough up a little extra to what you think your share was worthy. I think the worst is when you tell your server that you want separate checks at the end of your dining experience. How the hell are we supposed to remember what you ate, sipped on, or if you ordered dessert for the table. Who splits the dessert or appetizer you ordered for the table? We live in a world of technology but trust me our tech serving computers can't split like that.
