Olivia Engel was a six year-old with an “infectious giggle” who loved purple, animals, dancing, sailing over the waves with her father, Brian Engel, and grandfather, Richard Engel, and especially her three year-old brother, Brayden, whom she’d recently helped her Mom, Shannon, to potty train, by rewarding him with stickers. She was excited to be playing an angel in St. Rose of Lima's Christmas Eve pageant but was instead buried from the church in a little white casket adorned with her favorite American Girl Doll atop it, after having been shot multiple times at the Sandy Hook Elementary School on December 14th, dying in the arms of a Newtown, Connecticut, police officer who hugged her and told her “I love you” before she died.
