slither dearer near the wilted weeds

play the part of rattled kin and make me faint of heart

the spring fresh born has blown the horn

asked you to change your fine display

a coat well worn now will be thrown away

no rattles play a tune as i welcomed you this morn

lay lovely long and languid in the sun

and frighten the real rattlesnakes at play

I wonder if rattlesnakes know that people are universally afraid of them? And if they do, I also wonder if they consider themselves the badasses of the Southern California snake community?

my back yard opens on to a creek and natural area which i love..but i do have to accept that critters of all kinds paying visits because of that....most of which i love...Bobby feed the birds and i watch them outside the computer table window

they don't like it if a snake drops in..hahahahahahahhahaha
