Padres take down Nationals in heroic fashion
David Dodd 2:33 a.m., May 19
riding out tomorrow
without prejudice
of age or intuition
as if beaches still can call
with thunderous ocean waves
powerful roughing up my shore
taking them as they comes
riding thru the foam
lifting and projecting
toward a thoughtful shore
clustered cling the starfish
living
moving
ripening
knowing little peace is left
savoring it
clutching it
to a questioning breast
the need to still give succor
knowing the milk is weak
with a long lifes conflagration
only memories enrichment
will that be enough?
