i spy thee ever changed chameleon

and oh my willful wilding heart

you breathe a want in me

flung high your shimmering fairie dust

dark the lustful longing as it fell

*

soft whisper fine hyperbole

allaying every plan discreet

each other virtuous conduct sweet

fast faded into loveless mist

not hampered by your sensuous kiss

*

cover my grave with heather then

prepare my stone and

pray for me for i have sinned

my inward nature you've sorely pricked

dissolving my resolve lightening quick

*

i would cry out before i die

but my tears are not bespoken

no token of blameless love

but only the heedless care

of the chameleon's mystery of what's not thereImage

I love Shakespeare, even though I find him very difficult to read and comprehend. All those confusing "wheretos" and "art thous." I try to force myself to read him because it's literature and there are so many beautiful passages in his plays, but it's hard work, and I simply can't read them for pleasure.

Burns is great. "O my Luve's like a red, red rose That’s newly sprung in June ..." well, you know the rest.
