It may well be the premise of The Hangover III, but on Saturday, March 16 you are invited to round up your buddies and head south of the border for ten dollar tattoos in Tijuana.

Temporary art space Otras Obras (read more about their premier installation here) is hosting a popup ink shop from noon ‘til 8 with work by artists Kandinsky (TJ), Pez (TJ), Clay (LA), Julien Borno (LA), and Mark Desiderio (LA).

$10 gets you 1 to 4 inches of black ink.

What will $40 get me? I have no tats, but I do want one inker on me before I die. I want this in Times Roman: "This is what happens." It's inspired by a gal I know from Trinidad & Tobago that has a tattoo on her arm that says this: "Roaring, roaring, roaring." Hers is from a poem by Charles Bukowski, I was so impressed by her. You can find the poem here: http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/splash/

I would link a picture of her but the men who read here would lose their collective minds. She is beautiful. And she's an awesome writer. The heads would explode and I would feel so guilty.

My choice is from my head, because, really, no matter what people say that happens, THIS is what happens and it explains all of history and really, who needs some sort of a odd epitaph? I would rather just have a simple rational explanation.

I dig the idea, David. And certainly you could fit it within the allotted 4 inches. If I end up settling on an idea I can live with, I may see you there. Maybe a kindred quote from Vonnegut - the ever-zen "So it goes" or even "Everything was beautiful and nothing hurt," though that's not quite the truth.
