Jazz-themed dinner + art date
The Prado (1549 El Prado) in Balboa Park is offering a Thursday evening dinner package which includes a VIP dinner, a bottle of wine, and 2 tickets to see the The Jazz Loft Project at the Museum of Photographic Art. The offer ends on September 27 and there are three weeks left to take advantage of the date package ($39.95 for single; $79.95 per couple). Reservations may be made online.
The VIP dinner is a three-course meal starting with a choice of either "round midnight," a farmer's salad, or "night in tunisia," a spiced lentil and chickpea soup. Entrees include jazz-themed specialities like "goodbye porkpie hat," pork prime rib accompanied by goat cheese potato puree, peaches, jack daniels and ginger sauce, and "moo cow boogie," red wine braised short ribs with an array of sides. The three choices for dessert are "kind of blue," "koko," and "flamenco sketches." Guests may choose between a bottle of Cotes du Rhone Blanc or Cotes du Rhone Rouge.
