A good year for women on film, as exemplified in new releases The Eyes of My Mother, Miss Sloane, and more

Locally published zine The Radvocate recently dropped its seventh installment.
The print-only zine distributes internationally with music reviews, creative non-fiction, poetry, and tales of rollerblade hijinks by editor Matt Lewis.
Syndicated Zine Review had this to say:
“Top notch writing includes micro fiction by Anthony Muni Jr, poetry by Missy Solis, some rambling stream of consciousness stuff from Kevin Yee, and Michael Kraft starts with what seems like a cheesy freshman writing exercise but ends up with a quite brilliant little vignette.. very sly, you don’t see it coming until you’re all caught up in it.”
The Radvocate’s pending eighth issue will include photography by lens-bound couple Jose & Angelina Romero.
Like a hallucination in a fever dream, Jose’s “See You in the Future” series captures the eerie refracting of light in a too clean, near empty metro station.
Both of their work focuses on rollerblading and travel with such youthful bewonderment that you are liable to feel pangs of nostalgia for a life you’ve never lived (or have you?) while scrolling through the Romeros’ photo roll.
