San Diego Art Institute Museum of the Living Artist in Balboa Park kicks off its Summer C-Note fundraiser with two previews of original work by living artists on May 18 and 19 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Visitors can view paintings, mixed media, and sculpture for sale by regional and international artists.
“Art is really the tool of the enlightened person,” said Timothy Field, executive director of the SDAI Museum of the Living Artist. “Art is capable of speaking back to you.”
On opening night guests can literally take paintings down from museum walls for purchase. All artwork will be on sale for $100, $200, or $300. “We bring out surprises,” Field added. The fundraiser begins with approximately 600 pieces of art for sale, and staff replenish the museum space with new work as pieces are purchased.
Celebrate living artists at Summer C-Note's opening night on Saturday, May 19 from 5 to 8 p.m. and purchase your very own piece of original art while supporting the museum and the arts.
