Holiday gifts at Lux Art Institute
The Lux Art Institute store (1550 S. El Camino Real) in Encinitas is going on sale through December 29. The store is open Thursday and Friday from 1-5 p.m. and on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Members get 20% off, and the regular sale will be 10%.
The naturally inspired jewelry and artwork drew my eye. All goods are handmade and one-of-a-kind. By shopping at the Lux store, you get to support local artists, designers, and artisans.
Here are some Native-American inspired geometric necklaces by Beerhead Factory.
And San Diegan artists will feature their artwork, hanging planters, pillows, and stationery and thank you notes through the holiday--all good gift ideas for stocking stuffers or holiday party hosts/hostesses.
Stop in if you haven't yet viewed the paintings of Alan Feltus, the most recent artist in residence at Lux. Admission is $5, and Feltus' work will be on display through December 29. Spanish-born sculptor Carlos Vega will arrive as Lux's new artist in residence on January 10.
