Yoga for Hips & Shoulders
The Little Yoga Studio (702 Ash St. Suite B) hosts Hips and Shoulders Workshop with Sara Deakin on Saturday, August 25 from 1 to 3 p.m. This two-hour workshop targets two major problem areas for yoga practitioners.
Sara Deakin is a seasoned instructor at The Little Yoga Studio, having practiced since 1999 and received her certifcation from White Lotus Foundation in Santa Barbara, CA. I can personally attest that Deakin creates a joyful and calm environment in which she vigorously challenges the body and inspires the mind.
"Hips and shoulders are notorious for carrying stress and tension which often lead to neck and back pain...Explore creative ways to use props that will give your body a feeling of freedom and spaciousness and debunk the idea that props are just for beginners and the inflexible. Sara will take you through a challenging and eye-opening sequence that will teach you how to open your hips and shoulders, which are essential components to achieving difficult arm balances, balancing poses and inversions. All-levels of practitioners are welcome." The cost for the workshop is $35 online or $40 at the door.
