The Museum of Photographic Arts (1649 El Prado) hosts Craft Sunday on September 16. Participants will learn about and create their own personal flipbooks. "Animate simple actions or create your own stories. Join us at MOPA for a fun new way of looking at the basics of film," states the Museum site. The cost is $5 per flipbook.
The Museum of Photographic Arts currently exhibits Three Story House, a show that reveals how "photographers have captured the familiarity of the domestic environment to tell stories of how we live and where we live, as well as transforming it into a creative space to make art. With the inception of photography in 1839, photographers began to explore the importance of domesticity in our everyday lives, offering insight into the home as a nucleus for daily growth and renewal." In addition, The Jazz Loft Project: W. Eugene Smith in NYC, 1957-1965 is also on view. Admission is $6-8.
