If you live in a neighborhood like mine where apartments buildings and homes, alternately slightly run-down and newly renovated, are all situated together, it's not an ideal place to trick-or-treat with kids. You'd have to try each house, and amble for blocks and blocks, skipping most apartment complexes and gated areas. (By the way, where are all the kids? I saw a kid playing basketball in his driveway this week and marveled that I actually saw a kid, not a baby, a real kid.)

Seaport Village's Halloween Bash will take place on Saturday, October 27, at 3:30 p.m. and trick-or-treating will start at 5 p.m. and run until 8 p.m. The entire village will offer sweet treats to trick-or-treaters throughout the night. The event is free.
