Publishing 101 workshop
Nonprofit storytellers So Say We All show the ropes of the writing business
Got a knack for writing but not sure how to break into the industry?
Join Justin Hudnall of nonprofit storytelling group So Say We All for a Publishing 101 workshop at the Malcolm X Public Library (5148 Market Street) in Emerald Hills on Tuesday, December 11 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
The workshop will dispel some common misunderstandings about the writing business while discussing how to get published, get an agent, sell work, and self-publish.

So Say We All was started two years ago by David Tuffy and Justin Hudnall.
From their website:
“Created in February of 2009 and based in San Diego, CA, So Say We All (SSWA) is a 501(c)3 non-profit arts organization whose mission is to serve local, San Diego artists by fostering an environment in which they can thrive both creatively and professionally. We aim to achieve this by producing public events open to their participation, providing them with a cultivated audience, archiving their work online to increase publicity, and offering educational opportunities to enhance their craft.
“Why San Diego? We grew up here. We believe San Diego’s artistic community is its greatest asset, a force for economic stimulus, and on par with those of the greatest cities in the world. We’ve watched too many talented individuals become frustrated with their opportunities, lose faith in their craft, or move away in order to survive. We got sick of hearing people say, “that’s a good idea, but it’ll never work here.” We didn’t share the inferiority complex. We were bored and decided we wanted to declare a jihad on mediocrity. We believe self-expression is the new entertainment.”
So Say We All produces multimedia events that have included Greenroom, F*ck Alt Comedy, VAMP, and So Say We All Story Slam nights.
