Cathedral X Lauches Kickstarter Campaign, Chairs Missing Releases 7-inch Vinyl
Cathedral X, a small self-run collaborative studio of sound and performance projects by sound artist and designer Amanda Schoepflin, visual performance artist Jessica Jeffery, and sound artist Paul Remund (Chairs Missing, Tape Deck Mountain) in downtown’s Art & Design District is launching a Kickstarter campaign to help fund their first full-length DVD, Spaces in Solitude.
The 12-part abstraction set to an original musical score will require an estimated $5000, which will go towards costume, lighting, staging materials, printing, booking, and travel shoot costs.
“The campaign is sought to help Cathedral X push it's context from a live performance on stage at a venue to a moment in pure intimate geographic solitude,” writes Schoepflin via email.
“The group will be rewarding donators with several different tokens of appreciation, for each level there are multiple rewards of personalized and original pieces designed and created by the artists in house.”
On Friday, November 4th from 7 to 12 p.m, Cathedral X will be hosting "A Happening," an event showcasing several different performances, instillations, and displays in order to give donators an idea of what they are supporting.
“We are collaborating to provide a night of immersions in the wonderful mxd830 building outdoor courtyar,” writes Schoepflin. “The event is on a suggested donation basis, but viewers are encouraged to enjoy themselves either way, although there are both cash and digital options.
“The night will include several different elements of display including interactive, art and architectural blending, as well as human instillations. This is going to be a night of abstract interplay with our community. Please take time to come out and help us reach our goal!”
