Hungarian Carnival Birlesk at Til Two Club Tonight
Tonight, The House of Pink BoomBox transports you to the Eastern Bloc with a Hungarian Carnival Birlesk show at the Til Two Club.
“It’s dirty, speakeasy performance art,” says Lily Holiday, mother of the House of Pink BoomBox Productions, following suit with the Prohibition-era Chicago mobster spelling of "burlesque."
“We spell birlesk with a ‘k’ because we’re klassy with a ‘k,’” says Holiday, adding, “We bedazzle our titties — klassy with a ‘k.’”
Expect fire dancers, a snake girl, sexy clowns, dancing bears, a fortune teller, cotton candy slave girls, belly dancers, a one-armed panty wrangler, music by Roric and steampunks 6 String Samurai, and shenanigans.
In addition to usual suspects Holiday, Jezebel DeVille, and Justine Babyteeth, the revue features the talents of Miss Sway, Rin the Fucking Ah-Mazing, Dia D'Light, Anna Yanushkevich (the evening’s token Eastern European), Aleena Hyena Suicide, and Octamussy.
The only thing missing?
“I feel bad that part of my costume is dyed bunny fur, seeing as I just sent my bunny, Dr. Floppykins, to Valhalla,” says Holiday.
“I’m holding off on pets until another homeless man offers to sell me a cute animal.”
