Farmers' Market From Afar

On a clear day, a northward stroll along Froude Street - which the City of San Diego recognizes as the eastern boundary of Ocean Beach - offers several beautiful views. There's the never-ending Pacific Ocean to the south and west, and then populous Pacific Beach, lovely La Jolla, and majestic Mount Soledad to the north.

Indeed, on a sunny day, anyone with a camera can walk a few blocks along Froude and come away with a half-dozen amazing shots. And even on a cloudy day, when the ocean can't be seen with the normal clarity and the light isn't shining on La Jolla, Froude Street offers a few intriguing visual angles into the neighborhood of Ocean Beach itself.

In fact, in this installment of OB in HD, the clouds rolled in on us as we walked along Froude - but that didn't stop us from getting a great long-distance shot of the OB Farmers' Market. Take a look at all the activity going on in the shot, which starts at about 00:25. You'll see everything from a car looking for a parking spot at one end of Newport to surfers ripping up waves at the other end.

In the future, we'll take a closer look at the farmer's market. For now, we're content to gaze at the scene from a distance.
