El Cajon Police are looking for two men suspected of stealing a pair of pit bulls late Thursday afternoon from the El Cajon Animal Shelter located at 1275 North Marshall.
According to Lieutenant Mike Moulton, two individuals described only as “adult males,” one aged 40-45 and another about 50 years old, visited the shelter shortly before 5 p.m. on March 28 and engaged a shelter worker in conversation. They were each interested in dogs held in different kennels, and the employee referred them to the shelter’s office for further questions and then walked away to an area out of the line of sight of the two men.
When she returned, the men had removed the dogs from their kennels and disappeared. One dog is described as a brown and white three year-old, the other is blue and white, aged about seven months.
Anyone with information on the dog theft is encouraged to call police at (619) 579-3311, or remain anonymous by calling the Crime Stoppers tip line at (888) 580-8477.
