The San Diego Workforce Index edged up 0.3% in July from June, according to the San Diego Workforce Partnership. The index at 86.24 is well ahead of its levels below 80 in late 2009 and early 2010. Moving in a favorable direction in July were the University of San Diego Index of Leading Indicators; consumer confidence; the unemployment rate, and first-time filers for unemployment insurance. Moving unfavorably were Indeed.com job availability and total nonfarm employment. Temporary employment was unchanged for the month.
