Do Killer Whales belong in captivity? That's been an ongoing question for decades, especially in cities such as San Diego and Orlando, where Sea World's popular amusement parks are located.

The issue was recently covered by Randy Dotinga, writer for online-news org, Voice of San Diego. Dotinga interviewed journalist and recent author of "Death at SeaWorld: Shamu and the Dark Side of Killer Whales in Captivity," David Kirby.

In the interview, Kirby describes footage of a Killer Whale named Kasatka grabbing the ankle of her trainer during a show at Sea World San Diego and holding him underwater for more than a minute.

That video was recently released. The ten-minute video shows trainer, Ken Peters, getting whipped around by Kasatka underwater. The whale finally surfaced and Peters spent minutes trying to calm the whale by rubbing her back. Peters eventually managed to escape with a broken foot, and quite the scare.
