San Diego County lost 4,400 nonfarm jobs from June to July, as the unemployment rate dipped to 9.2% from a revised 9.3% in June, according to the California Employment Development Department. The month-over-month job loss was largely seasonal. Government lost 11,300 jobs, and 8,500 of them were local education-related positions. The county has gained 35,100 jobs over the last year.
